Your Questions, Answered

  • We release from 10-20 Bilums per collection. All of our beautiful bags are one off creations. If a style has sold that you love, let us know and we may be able to find something similar for you.

    1. Hand wash only – Fill a basin with cold or lukewarm water and a mild, natural detergent. Avoid hot water, which can shrink or distort the fibres.

    2. Gently clean – Submerge the Bilum and gently agitate it with your hands. Avoid scrubbing harshly.

    3. Rinse thoroughly – Make sure all soap is washed out to protect the fibres and colours.

    4. Do not wring – Press gently to remove excess water, but never twist or wring the bag, as this can stretch or damage the weave.

    5. Dry flat – Lay the Bilum on a clean towel in its natural shape and allow it to air dry, away from direct sunlight or heat.

    6. Storage Avoid hanging when full, as this can stretch the bag over time.

Tip: Natural fibre Bilums may soften and shape slightly with use, which is part of their charm. Slight variations in colour and texture are natural and add to the bag’s unique character.

  • Bilums are all handmade and one of a kind—no two are exactly the same. As such, they have inherent variations in colour, pattern, and texture. They can also change over time—fibres can soften and natural dyes can mellow.
